More About JSC

I started The J School Collective after more than two decades building and leading marketing teams inside Fortune 25 companies, fast-moving startups, and beloved consumer brands. I’ve helped shape go-to-market strategies, launched new verticals, scaled e-commerce from the ground up, and led the kind of cross-functional work that ties marketing to real business impact—not just impressions.

I got my start on the agency side, back in San Francisco—cutting my teeth in a few different houses where I learned how to manage creative, keep pace with ambitious clients, and deliver work that works. Since then, I’ve built loyalty programs, introduced CRM systems, stood up internal brand platforms, and led performance marketing efforts across paid, social, retail media, and PR. I’ve also designed and restructured marketing organizations, implemented MarTech stacks, and built out systems to support collaboration, consistency, and scalable growth.

The name J School Collective comes from my time in journalism school, where some of the smartest and most generous people I’ve ever worked with gathered to create, collaborate, and (most importantly) complete. We worked long days and late nights, building stories that mattered—together. That energy has stayed with me. To this day, I’m lucky to know and work with a collective of friends, colleagues, and collaborators who bring deep expertise and fresh perspective to the table when the work calls for it.

More recently, I’ve been diving deep into AI—exploring how it can enhance ideation, speed up workflows, and reduce the busywork that slows teams down. I believe in using technology to elevate—not erase—the “human in the loop.” Whether it’s helping teams adopt new tools, experimenting with prompt engineering, or building AI into content and campaign operations, I’m focused on practical, ethical ways to integrate these capabilities into the real work of modern marketing.

That belief in collaboration and calm under pressure isn’t limited to my work. I live in the Pacific Northwest, where I spend as much time as I can on horseback or in the garden—two places that keep me grounded and remind me how growth actually happens. I’ve also volunteered in national disaster animal rescue for nearly 20 years. That experience—working in unpredictable, high-stakes environments with people I’ve just met—has shaped how I lead: with clarity, empathy, and a bias for action when it matters most.

If that sounds like the kind of partnership you’re looking for, I’d love to talk.
